Our story began with our founder, Ivan, and his love for kaya on toast. It was more than just a daily ritual; it was a connection to his childhood, filled with memories of his grandparents and the warmth of home. At the same time, durian — especially Musang King — has always held a special place in his life. So he wondered: what if we brought the two together?

That simple thought sparked something bigger — a vision to take something familiar and nostalgic, and give it a bold new twist.

Kinglah! was born to honour tradition, while celebrating Malaysia’s most iconic fruit. We craft our kaya the old-school way, using a double boiler passed down from Ivan’s late grandmother — a nod to heritage that’s at the core of everything we do. No gimmicks, no shortcuts — just real flavour, made with care.

We’re not here to make just another touristy durian snack. We’re here to reimagine kaya — to make durian kaya something everyone can enjoy, whether you’re a local, a traveller, or just someone with great taste.

And this is just the beginning. We’re already exploring new flavours and recipes, blending tradition with creativity to build a range of artisanal kaya spreads that speak to our roots — and your tastebuds.
